For ability scores higher than 14, The price increases, for 15 or 16 you must pay 2 points, for 17 and 18 you must pay 3 points. this is enough to allow for two 18's and nothing else. You cannot lower your ability score passed 8 before application of racial negatives, Similarly you cannot raise it past 18 before application of racial positives. [Please see table for total costs.]

Campaign Specific Character Creation Rules
- The First Hit Die for each character is Maximized. Each additional Hit Die is: 1/2 max HD +Con Mod+2. I'm afraid our group might be extra squishy so I'm allowing slightly stronger Hit Die.
- Regardless of Class or Race each PC in this campaign receives 1 free skill point per level to use in any Performance skill they choose. If they want to spread these points over multiple performance skills they may.
- Age, weight, height, and other related character specifics will be rolled IN SESSION, you do not get to choose.... none of us get to choose the worthless bag of flesh the gods have poured us into so neither do your characters.
- Starting wealth is average for your class.
- Each Character is allowed 1 free trait and then each additional trait must be paired with a drawback. A PC cannot exceed 3 traits.
- Regional Languages: Each PC gets either Adonese, or Adonian as a free starting language that counts as common.
- Adonese is the peasant version Adonian, [think British English vs South Boston American English, there's a difference]. Both are spoken throughout the entire Northern Continent as the main language. Additionally, there are several other regional languages available.
- The parent language to Adonian is Azurite and it is still heavily spoken on the neighboring continent, and to a much lesser extent on this continent, though it is popular among half-Giants, and orcs.
- To the South East of the Continent in the Dragon Land Nations they speak Sylvan, and a
- Simplified version of Draconic know as Dragon Tongue. Dragon Tongue is Draconic with modern Adonese words mixed in to describe newer things ideas that were not contemplated when the ancient language was created.
- To the West you will find the The Seven Nations of the Great Mother, all of which are Halfling and
- Gnome dominated. As such both of those languages are heavily spoken.
- West beyond the Seven, are the Middle Kingdoms and the Far West, which speak Dwarven,
- Underdark, and a
- bastardized mix of Dwarven, Underdark, and Adonese called Thalian [Do not speak Thalian to a Middle Kingdom Dwarf they will punch you].
- Both the Northern Rangers, and The Order of the White Lion have unique sign languages that they teach new recruits. The Northern Rangers call it Hunter Sign, and
- The Order of the White Lion call theirs' Battle Sign.
- Umbrian, Necropolitan, and Crow Speak are not available as starting languages but can be learned, and opportunities will be provided for you to learn them, if you choose. Umbrian's origin is still unknown and its etymology and alphabet seem unrelated to any other language that has arisen on the continent. It has been recently discovered that if one were to try and read Umbrian while under the effects of a True Seeing Spell you would find that the words come to life and turn into moving hieroglyphics that act out what the words are describing. This recent discovery has now lead scholars to conclude that Umbrian must be an inherently magical language created in the outer planes, for as of yet unknown purposes, though the stylized moving hieroglyphs bare an uncanny resemblance to the hieroglyphs of another ancient magical language known as Soulspeak.
- Necropolitan is the language of the undead and another inherently magical language that can only be understood, read, or spoken by the undead, or those that have died at least once.
- Lastly Crow Speak, is potentially a myth or even a Con. Scholars are still after several hundred years investigating its legitimacy. Crow Speak has been traditionally spoken by Mystics, Traveling Bards, Mad Men, and on occasion children. The Language seems to be bestowed in its entirety upon random individuals that have experienced powerful magical revelations while in the Screaming Crow hills. Though the events in question are often circumspect, unprovable, random and varied to a great degree. Nonetheless, those blessed or cursed with this language seem to be natural experts at making their way through the Screaming Crow Hills, being aware of territories, magical portals, secret holds, and uncovering magical treasures and locations, they also seem to be able to speak with the local bird population. Scholars haven't ruled out a con, or scam yet because quite frankly the whole language seems to be caws, chirps and whistles and more importantly its rare to have more than a couple of people that understand the language together or near each other ever, since the gift is given to only to a handful of people a generation and cannot seemingly be taught.
Recent History
During the end of the Last Cosmic Torrent when all four Moons were full in the sky, it seemed the whole world was in celebration and the future held nothing but hope and joy. That was 3993, this is 4057 and shit has gone down. One of the first major events that occurred after the torrent was over, was the re-unification of the ancient Augurian Empire under the unified Royal Lines of the ancient King Augur. This reborn empire, is now the largest nation in the world both in area, national GDP, military potential, and population. This sudden new world power caused massive upheavals in trade routes, immigration statistics, cultural diffusion, and prompted the rest of the world to shore up their armies and military alliances. Everyone is tense and armed to the teeth.
The Second Major event that rocked the world was the discovery of two portals to Soma, the fourth moon in the southern continent. As it turns out not only is the moon livable, but its populated. The moon has been claimed by the Siege People, or the Freman as they call themselves. They call it Ghanima's Heaven, after their water goddess and claim it is her original domicile. Since then they have made great efforts to colonize the moon and it has been going quite well.
The third Major event was a return of Lapis Lazuli, The Blue Phoenix of the White Wastes, who as it turned out, was the avatar of The ancient Sky Goddess, Chelandra in 4024. The return of the sky goddess caused a huge stir amongst the gods and when the dust had settled, Chelandra and Adon were wed and a unified church was created. this new church consisted of some old gods, dead gods, and newborn godlings. The New Unified Church of Adon is meant to serve as not only a place of worship for Adon but as a more organized way to worship for several other gods. Included in this unified church is Bandor, Sagain, Naith, Canta, Leterata, Bailan, and Queen Chelandra. In terms of hierarchical structure, Adonese clerics work much in the same capacity as they have already with the added duties of encouraging worship in all areas of life so as bolster the worship of the other gods where appropriate.
Lastly in 4027, 8 new godlings were raised to godhood all in the same year, the new Time was dubbed, the Time of New Crowns. Those new gods include the three resurrected civilization goddesses Bailan, Canta, Leterata, the newborn son of Adon, Chrosia, the newborn son of Nordin, Cthugrain, the demigods Divakana, Naith, and the resurrected 5th daughter of Ghanima, Runna.
There have of course been major events but they've mostly been isolated to specific regions though there was a 6 month dragon rage that enveloped the entire eastern Continent in 4035, and a Large Pod of Sea Behemoths has been terrorizing the Northern Archipelago for the past decade making fishing impossible and causing food shortages both in the east and in the lands of Corellon. In 4044 Forod Losa Nost the Snow Elf city rejoined the Elven nation and accepted the Coronal as its ruler. Lastly in 4047 the many children of 'ascended' King Calcifer of the Ruby Lands, performed several miracles in rapid succession, during his funeral at Leto's Rest. First his daughters summoned the rain after performing Ghanima's water dance flawlessly for 10,000 steps, then his many sons, caused a solar eclipse, and foretold the future while speaking in tongues, and Lastly his heir the Mystic Prince Lazlo, summoned the god Shai-Halud from his resting place beneath the sands and forced him to bow before him. As a result Calcipher was elevated to godhood and serves in the same position as Lyte Kynd, being honored as the Second Light of Leto and his lineal bloodlines were declared sacred.
Despite all these crazy global events, academics have not become desensitized but rather have grown ever more paranoid, many believing that all these events are just the precursor of a massive cataclysmic event that could change everything forever or even destroy everything forever. Currently they are hyper-focused on two potential sources of the hypothetical disaster. The first is the fact that both Leto, and Adon both sun gods have both achieved the highest level of godhood before becoming an over-god. In fact both deities seem to have power to spare which they have been bestowing upon several servitor deities. Academics are torn as to the reasons why neither has attempted ascension to Over-godhood. The first theory is that there is already an unnamed Overgod that would stop any attempt at being replaced. The second theory is that an attempt by either to take the position would result in an attack by the other one that would no doubt end in a celestial war that could destroy several planes of reality, including our own. The third theory is that one, or both of them are in the process of ascending but it simply doesn't happen overnight. The fourth theory is that they have already tried and failed. None of those theories are harbingers of glad tidings.
The Second potential source of great disaster is the Coil itself. The creation of so many new gods in such a short time frame, as well the increased sapient populations, and the recent discoveries of so many ancient portals and magics has caused various other planes to shift and move around our plane of reality as the new godly realms expand and change. The result has been that the coil has surged with power and many locations that already act as magical intersections and nexuses have become extremely active, even hyperactive in the past few decades. Academics are worried that the Coil could falter, or that massive tears could open onto other planes of reality and allow horrendous beasts and demons of all kinds into our world.

Recent Local Events
Since the end of the Cosmic Torrent in 3993 The area around the screaming crow hills has been primarily annexed by the new Augurian Empire, However Myth Miar, and the Hills Themselves are still claimed and owned by the Braktierian Ministry and ruled by the Elders of Myth Miar. There are however open border treaties to allow for commerce and trade. Not to mention the Northern Rangers still have to enter the hills on a regular basis. Meanwhile the Screaming Crow Hills have entered an insanely active period. In fact in 4028 an entire Goblin Thaumatech Mythal Ruin re-appeared overnight from the Fey Realm. The city predates humans on the continent and the magic is beyond unique. The Elders of Miar, have discovered its old name to be Myth Tendare, and have renamed it as it was. They are currently trying to restore the Malfunctioning Mythal, and using it as a colonization site. The Hills are also pushing out larger and more disturbing monsters at an increasing rate. Not to mention someone seems to go missing daily like some kind of fucked up lottery. Children playing near the tree line have disappeared and returned as 80 year olds babbling incoherently about fairy realms. The Northern Rangers even with backup from The Order have been at wits end trying to solve all the requests for help. Thankfully about 15 years ago The Augurian Government instituted the Unified Adventurer's Guild which in the area is administered by The Northern Rangers, and hires adventurers based on their ranks to take care of any requests they can't handle. The effect has been one of relief on the people, however the problems are still mounting and in fact it looks like the hills active period is just warming up. Everyone is on pins and needles, bracing themselves and waiting for disaster.
The 1st of Harvest Tide, Moransday, under the Reaping Moon, 4057; Full Bendis, The Time of the Accursed Instruments.
Skargani is facing many issues, stemming from the Hills, Bandits, and The House of Moons. The House of Moons has been active in Braktier for nearly 400 years and is a criminal enterprise for human trafficking, drug trafficking, arms dealing, and pretty much every other type of organized crime you can think of. It has long been suspected that the House is made up of Ven Worshippers especially since they delight in infiltrating Skanni's churches disguised as priests and devote followers and then steal from them often embezzling tithes for years before being caught. Additionally, the activities of the House of Moons has been almost exclusively within the screaming Crow hills and the surrounding area, which also happens to be the area where Skanni has her most concentrated worship. However no proof that they worship Ven has ever been presented, it is simply a belief because Skanni has not had a more persistent enemy, since she rejected the advances of several suitors including Ven millenia ago, before opting to remain a virginal goddess. It has also long been suspected that their HQ is located somewhere deep in the woods, and that the House has a way in and out that is relatively safe, but once again there is no proof.
Recently the Northern Rangers have been stretched to the breaking point dealing with the suddenly extremely active House of the Moons, and what they believe to be allied pirates, and bandits. They are now hiring low-level adventures to escort every caravan, tax collector and merchant traveling their roads, hoping they can smoke out the House or at least deprive it of enough material goods and wealth that it starves. they will also pay extremely handsomely for any information that will help take down the house. Adventures have also been given a Monster Harvesting Guide that will allow them to identify local flora and fauna, and teach them how to harvest all the valuable components, which the guild will buy. This small service has made adventuring quite profitable in and around Skargani.
You are a Traveling Troupe of performers that has fallen on hard times, work is thin because of all the difficulties in the area, so you have been taking on escort work from the newly established Northern Rangers Adventuring Guild. While you have yet to advance from G Rank your work has been solid and you have gained the guildmaster's Notice.
The adventure begins when you are summoned to the Guildmaster's office, where you are told that because of your musical talents and seemingly non-threatening demeanor, you are the perfect lure to bring out the local bandits. You are to escort a couple of halflings merchants [Teri and Peri], their goods, and funds, as they pay the commune's yearly taxes, and conduct their business across several different towns while pretending to be a poor performing troupe. The Halflings don't yet know that the Rangers are planning on using the Carriage as bait and you have been ordered not to tell them. The Chief of the Halfling Commune is a former Northern Ranger himself and is aware, in fact it was his idea, as he is sick and tired of having their taxes and goods stolen every year. Should you encounter bandits, slay them and return their skulls so they can be interrogated using speak with dead. They will pay 20gp per verified bandit head and 50gp for a verified House of the Moons head.
If you are successful, and Teri and Peri are returned safely to their village you will be raised to Rank F, and be allowed to take on more lucrative missions.
