Title: The Heaven Star, The Lord of Light. Lord of Azure, Lord of Nisgard.
Rank: 17: Greater Power. 19.
Derivation of Power: Adon a little more than half of his power from direct worship. Much of the rest is derived from indirect worship through tales, and myths. Adon has also subsumed the powers of 4 gods, specifically Cronias, Leterata, Bailan, and Canta. Though, he subsumed the divine strength of the three sisters he never subsumed their portfolios for fear that they would change him far too drastically. Adon was also born a half-storm giant to two gods. In Recent years Adon has also begun to derive a small portion of his power from his Queen who holds a tremendous amount of power that is derived from an ancient source. This has been greatly beneficial since he has had to split some of his worship with the 3 sisters to whom he has returned their original portfolios and with the upcoming children being born to his Queen Chelandra, Sagain, Canta, and Nenya there is going to be a greater need for more power within the heavenly realms than ever before.
Symbol: A Golden Sun rising behind two hills or simply a Golden Sun on a red background. A Golden Sun with a Crown hovering over it on a red background.
Home Plane: The Heavenly Throne, in The Palace of Light in the Heroic Fields of Nisgard.
Alignment: LG
Accepted Clerical Alignments:LG, LN, NG, (CG).
Favored Weapon: Longsword, or Longbow.
Personality:
History: Adon was born to Frema and Azuress several Millennium ago. He is their oldest child. He was born in midst of several ongoing wars between the Northern tribes, made up primarily of Nordin Worshipers, and the Southern Tribes who worshiped his father. At the same time Azuress was coming into indirect conflict with his Father Chronias, and several tribal spirits and demigods worshiped by smaller clans and forest creatures like gnolls, and goblins. As a result Adon grew up quickly and mastered many forms of combat in short order. He quickly took on the persona of the noble and honorable warrior. This coupled with his Golden Armor, and skills with fire magic made the associations with the sun a mere small leap. His prowess on the battlefield help turn the tide in his father's favor and the Northern tribes and Nordin were pushed back. With the Northern tribes temporarily brought to heel, his twin sister Skanni was able to destroy and absorb the 4 moon goddesses whom had sided with Nordin in the prior battles. Adon on the other hand attempted to reconcile familial ties with his grandfather, and aunts, but was unsuccessful. After the birth of Bandor, Azuress and Adon were able to complete dominate the northern tribes, using his strategies and finally win the ongoing clan wars. With no wars to fight Adon along with Bandor concentrated on building up their peoples. They helped institute laws, government and general welfare. With the arrival of elves to their lands they helped their people discover magic, arts, culture and exploration. Eventually, they made their way onto the Northern Continent where they came into contact with other powerful, deific-like creature known simply as Dragons. As fear of conflict rose amongst the pantheon, Adon and Bandor sought out a different solution. It was here that the Compact stone was created and the rules by which all gods within the plane of Balbydos must abide were written within it. Unfortunately, war and conflict could not be completely avoided. Chronias refused to obey, and Adon was forced to fight and kill his grandfather. Along with Chronias, his three servitor-deities, Canta, Bailan, and Literata were all killed. Rather, than have them floating adrift in the Astral Plane, Adon ashamed for his actions placed his grandfather's corpse in a timelocked pocket dimension. His aunts corpses were unfortunately utterly destroyed in the conflagration that proceeded Chronias's Fall. Although, he absorbed their power, Adon refused to take on the portfolios belonging to his aunts. It is assumed this was for two reasons. First, the portfolios were simply too feminizing and contradictory to be properly absorbed without causing severe changes to Adon. Secondly, He hoped that someday they could be restored or atleast passed down to a more appropriate deity. In the centuries that followed Adon's church grew and waned as any church, experiencing periodic growth spurts as one particularly powerful follower or another took it upon themselves to spread his word. Adon slowly took on the role of civilizer for his people, ever refining law and culture to their benefit. Around the 36th century and anonymous play made the rounds in literary and performance art circles. The play titled "The Hypocrisy of Adon" was a historical drama that heavily criticized Adon and his church for first killing Canta, Bailan, and Literata and then assuming the position of civilizer to the Azurite people. Adding salt to the wound was the fact Adon had refused to absorb or pass on the basic portfolios of cultural necessity (Literature, Song, and Poetry) while assuming the position of cultural civilizer. The church of Adon quickly assessed and manipulated the situation in their favor. The captured and confiscated as many copies as they could, then slightly altered them, re-titling them "The tragedy of Adon". This new version presented Adon as the noble warrior forced to kill his evil grandfather in order to usher in the age of civility, and unfortunately his sympathetic aunts were caught in the cross-fire. The new version was heavily backed by the church and spread like wildfire. As an unintended consequence Canta, Bailan, and Literata began to receive worship again. The newly resurrected and weak deities formed a small triadic pantheon with a cult-like following. In 4012 a 'Sky goddess' entered the scene and was unaffiliated with any pantheon. Her sources of power were numerous and not worship based. Together, with Bandor, Adon was able to secure her loyalty and access to power in return for affiliation in their Pantheon. What followed was a flurry of negotiations ending with marriage proposals and contracts. The goddess's power was such that the overflow allowed for several servitor deities, and new dieties to arise. Chelandra, took the floundering Civilization Pantheon under her wing. The three goddesses having served a 'time god' in the past easily adapted to their new role, and Adon having a new abundance of power was able to finally return to the 3 sisters their portfolios. The newly ordained couple soon gave birth to a the god Chrosia to whom they each gave their respective time portfolios.

Church: Clerics of Adon rarely if ever multiclass. When they do it is almost always as monks or Paladins. Adonese clerics are tasked with encouraging progress and the arts whenever and wherever it is encountered. To that end the church will often fund local artists, and bards, as well as, commission many pieces of art in the summer season so that they can be presented during the Summer Solstice and then donated to the local government buildings and deserving businesses. Adonese clerics are also quite active. They take a very active role in the community making sure they know the daily ongoings of their flock and noting who has not attended services in a while. A good cleric of Adon will make sure to insert themselves in the religious education of young children, as well as, offer counsel to ailing marriages. For those in an Adonese Inclined society the local cleric often functions as confessor, mediator, counselor, and educator. Adon has two orders both exist in the Northern Continent. The New Unified Church of Adon is meant to serve as not only a place of worship for Adon but as a more organized way to worship for several other gods. Included in this unified church is Bandor, Sagain, Naith, Canta, Leterata, Bailan, and Queen Chelandra. In terms of hierarchical structure, Adonese clerics will work much in the same capacity as they have already with the added duties encouraging worship in all areas of life so as bolster the worship of the other gods where appropriate. This also means that in cities and towns where there is already a church of Adon the head cleric of that church must see to it that clerics for the other gods are selected, trained and placed in ministerial positions within the church.
The Divine Academy: This new branch of Adonese and Bandorian Clerics travel to locations that are in the transitional phase between the old church and the new Unified Church and seek out local talent. Their sole purpose is to find bards that are willing to train in the divine arts and become clerics of Canta, Bailan, and Leterata and serve ministerial functions within the church ranks. Upon discovery of young talented children they fund their eduction with church monies, send a small stipend to cover any pecuniary loss to family farms or businesses, and train the child in the arts. This is usually accomplished by sending the child the Academy headquarters located in Castle Augur, or in one of their secondary locations in Silver Sun City, Mirovel Keep, or Widmar City.
The Order of the White Lion: The Order is ultimately run by the council of Bishops in the Adonese Church, but takes general orders from The Golden King Rivenell de Augur. The order's active military forces are primarily headed by Paladins, and filled by paid lay followers. The Order of the White Lion is tasked with enforcement of the law of the land within the borders of the Augurian Empire and preventing general harm whenever and wherever its potential is discovered.
The Northern Rangers: The Northern Rangers originally served the same function as the Order of the White Lion except they were tasked with law enforcement in Pantheros, The Free Lands of Widmar, large swaths of the Great Darcic Lands, and Braktier. Recently, a great deal of those lands where absorbed into the Augurian Empire. Rather, than make enemies of the Northern Rangers, The Order, and the Church of Adon have brokered a deal in which the Northern Rangers receive a great deal of funding from them and protect the lands in the name of the church and the order. While technically the Northern Rangers now fall under the supervision of Adon and his church most of the Northern Rangers are strict worshipers of Skanni.
(CG) The Church of Adon has recently begun to recruit a few chaotic members into their ranks. The purpose of these chaotic priests is to allow them to minister to the heavily chaotically inclined populations of Former Nations of Braktier, the free lands of Widmar, and Lochrealm. The idea is that these chaotic priests will establish the foundations of Adonese worship, and in a generation be replaced with Neutral clerics, and then Finally Lawful clerics, thus allowing a 3-4 generation transition to proper Adonese worship in these areas. These missionaries are also being used to help facilitate the transition to new Unified Church system by traveling to and reaching out to the most far flung clerics of Sagain, Naith and the 3 sisters.
Appearance/Manifestations: Adon primarily manifests in the form of a small pulsing sun, sometimes no bigger than the size of a firefly. From this small sun a booming voice may resonate. Adon has also on occasion taken the form of Golden Horse and appeared to his followers as a sign of his favor.

Title: The Wise One.
Rank: 11: Intermediate Power: Servitor to Adon. 14.
Derivation of Power: Though he need not be a servitor to Adon, the goals of his dogma are best accomplished in this manner. Only a quarter of his power is derived from this servitor-ship. In return his clerics are tasked with the administration of Adon's church and followers as well as his own. In this way his worship is intrinsically linked to the worship of Adon. Where Adon goes so does he. He receives little indirect worship since he plays merely small secondary parts in the myths of the pantheon. He was also born a Half-Storm Giant to two gods. Since Adon's marriage to Chelandra and the creation of the unified church, Bandor's duties (as well as the duties of his clergy) has increased considerably. It now falls to him to administer 8 churches, with potentially 3 more sometime very soon. Luckily, Adon's recent increase in power has allowed him to funnel more power downward into Bandor thus raising his abilities quite substantially. He is also now receiving considerable worship from arbitors, and negotiators of all kinds since word has spread that the marriage contracts between Adon, and Chelandra as well as between himself and the 3 sisters were all negotiated by him. This is on top of being the driving force behind the unified church.

Title: Father of the Gods, The All Father, Father Storm, The Wise Father.
Rank: 18: Greater Power
Derivation of Power: Azuress is the son of Cronias, and was as such born a deity with a small amount of the divine spark. He was also born a powerful Storm Giant and he gained much experience in battle long before his ascension. All services within the Azurean Pantheon begin with a blessing to the All Father, this along with the many myth and stories re-told about him on a daily basis offer him a great deal of indirect worship and acknowledgment. His direct worship is also quite large in the Ice Lands and in the Northern Continent.
Symbol: A storm cloud with lightning bolt on a royal purple background
Home Plane: The Great Feasting Hall in the Heroic Fields of Nisgard.
Alignment: CG
Accepted Clerical Alignments: CG, CN, NG, (LG)
Favored Weapon: Great Axe.
Personality: Azuress is a care-free most of the time. He spends the majority of his days drinking, and dining in the Heroic feast halls being served on hand and foot by his loyal and faithful Queen Frema and her petitioners. He surrounds himself with the most powerful warriors in his armies and spends endless hours reminiscing on past battles and telling stories. The one thing he takes seriously is battle. He is a master strategist and powerful warrior even for a god. He lusts for the times when Nordin sends his undersea host to the shores of the Heroic Fields, so that he may battle once more.
History: Azuress was born the first and only son of the giant god Cronias. After helping his father conquer all of Giantkind he was ousted from his newly crowned father's court. An Oracle had predicted that Azuress's son would someday kill Cronias. After exiling his son Cronias sent many assassins to kill him. Azuress managed to survive but was badly wounded defending himself. The healing magics of the human witch Frema saved him and he married her. In time Azuress Prowess in battle earned him great respect and tribute from the Sourthern Tribes of the Ice Lands. In time this grew into worship, and eventually godhood. Eventually he raised his wife into godhood and together they spawned 6 children and a single grandchild. Together with His two sons, Oldest daughter and Southern Armies Azuress took over the entirety of the Ice Lands and drove his enemy, another Giant God, Nordin, Nordin's wife Nenya and their son Ven out to Sea. The two giant gods have been at odds ever since. Incidentally, His son Adon did kill Cronias, as well as, Azuress's three sisters.
Relationships: Azuress loves all of his children but does play favorites. He gets along best with Adon and Skanni, as both have a history of warrior-ship. Bandor he goes to for counsel in complicated matters, and though he is proud of his son he finds him difficult to understand. His other daughters he loves greatly but simply does not understand them. His wife Frema he shows great deference too and loves her very much. Recently, he has taken great joy in spending time with his granddaughter Naith. He will often seek her out and spends a great amount of time playing with her. It is not unusual to find Azuress wandering the Feast Halls with Naith sitting on his shoulders. As for gods outside his family Azuress spends little time with them, however, he has a working relationship with Kilgarrah, and occasionally feasts with Moradin. His greatest enemy is Nordin, however, he considers Ven to be the more dangerous and ambitious danger in the pantheon. He has standing orders within his human followers that Ven followers are to be killed. Recently, Azuress stepped down as the head of the pantheon allowing his son Adon to succeed him, something he wished he had been able to do without so much bloodshed. His sons taking a more active role in rulership has swelled his heart and allowed him more time in doing what he loves most, Fighting, and playing with Naith. The thought of more grandchildren also brings him a great deal of joy.
Dogma:
Church: Most of Azuress's clergy multi-class as some sort of fighter, usually as barbarians. They serve as battlefield medics, and take care of his shrines in the villages when not at battle. They also serve as advisors to their clan leaders, and make sure the old forms of worship and battle are observed, and more importantly that Azuress is given his due respect. They maintain the village armories and if they have taken ranks in blacksmithing, will make sure it stays well stocked. Almost every village in the Ice Lands has at least a shrine to Azuress. Most villages will also have a clergyman if they can find a talented and dedicated enough young person to take on the training. Once a cleric of Azuress settles down in a location to minister, they never leave, and will attempt to train a replacement before dying.
(LG) - Azuress allows his clerics to be of the LG alignment if they intend to multi-class as Paladins or Monks. To that end he has a small non-ministerial order called, The Storm Raiders, made mostly of these Paladins, and Monks. They are tasked with seeking out clerics of Nordin, and Ven worshipers and killing them.
Appearance/Manifestations:

Derivation of Power: Sagain was a mostly powerless deity for a long time until her sister Wenscia gave her the portfolio of Life. Now she is worshiped by those who have had "close calls" or find themselves facing a terrible illness. She also manages to derive a scant amount of power from the myth in which she receives her sister's power. Most of her worship and power comes from non-druid and non-cleric divine casters, like witches, favored souls, and some rangers. She also has a few temples in the Ice Lands, with loyal and devout worshipers. She is also a Half-storm Giant born to two gods. Derivation of Power: Though born with the divine spark, Naith received no extra power from being born to a Half-Storm Giant, Bandor, as her mother was a normal yet devout mortal follower of Bandor. Despite, Ven followers killing her mother, she maintained her joyous outlook on life and brought that joy to the other gods when she joined her father after her mother's death. Sagain, who was suffering from a severe lack of worship and a very disorganized church agreed to take her on as a servitor if Bandor would administer her church. Ven killed Naith's Mother just a few centuries ago and at that time his power swelled as the tale was retold over and over again. Ven takes worship and worshipers just as any thief would, he steals them. Ven's clerics train heavily in the arts of deception and infiltrate other temples and churches. Once there they seek out unhappy followers, outcasts, and other malleable minds and turn them to Ven worship. His clerics will also hold services in older forgotten dialects of Azurite, and Adonese. History of the Gods:
Azuress:
Chronias was not just a powerful storm giant, He had mastered chronomantic magic or chronomancy, as it is commonly called these day. He used this power over time to control battles and every other situation and turn them in his favor. After much effort he gained ruler-ship over giant kind. On his day of coronation her invited a powerful seer to read his fortune in front of all his guests and attendants so that they might see that under his rule all would be well. In the past the witch had always foreseen a bright and long reign for Chronias. This time was different. She foresaw the same future but this time she also saw it brutal and and painful end. Before all in attendance she proclaimed that Chronias would fall at the hands of his own grandson. Chronias was flabbergasted, and after composing himself he demanded to know which son would deliver his assassin. The Witch lifted a single bony finger at his third son Azuress. Chronias Immediately drew the nearest sword and stabbed Azuress in the gut, and tossed him down the mountainside.
Azuress was left bleeding and weak with no way to mend his wound. He lay by the side of a hill wailing in his misery for 4 days before Frema, the great witch, heard his cries deep in her slumber. Using her gifts of divination as her only compass she found Azuress on the 7th Day. By the 11th day Azuress’s wound had been mended and he had fallen head over heels in love. Azuress was the youngest and weakest of his brothers and thus was never given the opportunity to win a wife, Frema’s gifts had made her a pariah that no man would have. Azuress feeling his time in this world was short and having an unending love toward Frema promptly proposed. The two married and returned to Frema’s village.
During one of their battles with rival clans to the north, Frema's Kin had been outflanked. Azuress up until then had lead a quite life in retirement with his wife, but on this occasion Azuress entered the fray. Using his abilities and natural strength Azuress cut a swath through the enemy and sent them running home after only a mere day of battle. So grateful were the people that they gave him a place of honor among the clan along with Frema. In the Proceeding decades Azuress fame and battle prowess grew to legendary heights and clan leaders from all over the continent came to the small seaside village to either pay tribute or challenge Azuress. Either way the result was that Azuress’s legend grew and with it the story of how he came to the village.
In time, other villages struck deals and took up their own protectors. However, Azuress had already passed that line from mighty warrior to godhood and easily defeated his foes. Now an immortal he granted godhood to his wife and proceeded to do the one thing their infirmed and aged mortal bodies could not; conceive. Frema carried in order Adon, Skanni, Valianna, Bandor, Wenscia, and finally Sagain. The one foe Azuress could not defeat was Nordin a powerful Cloud Giant that had arisen amongst the Northern Clans; the same clans Azuress had defeated long ago when he was still an aged and infirmed Giant. Time and Again, they clashed, Azuress against Nordin, and Ven against Adon. They always reached a stalemate. It was not until wise Bandor had come of Age that the battle finally turned in Azuress's favor. Azuress united with his two sons and together they defeated Nordin and Ven, Casting them off the Continent, and solidifying his hold over the Azurian peoples.
Centuries Later, Adon was forced to confront Chronias in one on one combat. Chronias had refused to be bound by the new rules set forth by the great compact. The compact had been clear: all gods must abide by them or face destruction. Adon begged him to reconsider, he had no desire to destroy his kin. Chronias, refused to hear the words of the lineage he had severed. Adon killed Chronias. Since that day, Time, has been the domain of Adon, though he has done little with it, he feels it a great shame that he had to kill his own grandfather to bring about the time of civilization.
Adon:
The 1st son of Azuress and Frema, Adon was born to two deific parents and took to his role as a god as naturally as a fish to water. Adon shone since childhood, literally. This coupled with his shocking red hair and fiery nature made the associations with the sun easy. He grew into an undefeatable warrior. No matter how often his opponents knocked him down or cornered him he always managed to squeeze out a win. These battles have included Ven, Nordin, Asmodeus, The 4 sisters of the moon, and on occasion Kilgarrah. Due to his mercy the only deity he has ever killed was Chronias, of which he still technically holds the portfolio of time. He refuses to take responsibility for the Portfolio since it was not his intent to kill Chronias and is shamed that his battle came to that end. Though he was a deity of the sun since his earliest years, his title as father of civilization did not get appended to his name until much later. When the elves arrived in Southern Azur and began to show humans the wonders of magic and craftsmanship, Adon was confused, astonished and shamed. He never suspected that such wonders were possible. More importantly, never for one instance did he think that the mere mortals that worshipped him were that capable. He realized that he had short changed his followers, and in repentance he vowed that mankind would someday surpass the elves in culture, and ability. While his father held no interest in improving mankind he did not stand in the way of Adon. Together with Bandor, Adon has been the driving force behind Human invention, and society since.
Bandor:
The 2nd Son of Azuress and Frema, Bandor was far more quiet and reserved than his brother. He rarely makes important decisions and prefers for his Brother and Father to handle them. However, much of the intricacies, details, and implementation of these decisions fall squarely on his shoulders. In his early years his quiet nature and lack of battle lust worried his parents who thought him slow, or weak. It was not until the final battle with Nordin did his true nature reveal itself. He took his father’s attack orders and changed them before reaching the clan leaders. His new strategy not only won them the day but spared much bloodshed on both sides. Afterwards when Azuress told Bandor that he could take the heads of the captured clan leaders as his reward, Bandor responded with “I will take them, and their friendship as well”. His embrace of their long held enemies made Azuress and Adon question Bandor’s loyalty and sanity, however since that day the northern tribes have been loyal worshippers of Azuress, and his children, particularly the wise Bandor.
Abraxas:
Abraxas was one of the many children that was spawned by Kilgarrah in the mortal realms. He was also one of the only dragons that took an active role in the community around him. He often settled arguments between the magical creatures of the forests, and took on the role of arbiter between his siblings. When humans arrived in his realm, he treated them much in the same way and took up active roles in their communities. He was valued for his Wisdom and knowledge in almost every village. When it appeared as though his Father and siblings would almost certainly clash with the Azurean pantheon for the control of human worshippers, it was he along with Bandor the wise that authored the compact to which all deities are governed to this day. The original deal that was struck was essentially a pay off scheme. Abraxas would forfeit his portfolios to Bandor to whom he was most directly in conflict with, and in return he would get Wenscia’s hand in marriage along with a staggering dowry of gems, metals and other commodities. Arkan received all the elven knowledge of magic that the Azurians had gathered and he inturn shared his knowledge of healing magic with Sagain whom he also married. Kilgarrah retreated from the Draconic pantheon to serve as God of Justice, for the humans and Bahamut and Tiamat received exclusive control over dragons in return for leaving humans alone. All was going well until the Azurians’ powers began to wane. Bandor had miscalculated a crucial element. He was unaware, indeed all the deities were unaware of how important the portfolio of life was. With Wenscia retired and living deep in some cave with her new husband “life” wasn’t doing its job. It began to retreat from the gods themselves, and humans had begun to grow sickly and diseased. Bandor sought to strike a new bargain with Abraxas. He offered the dragon the secrets of alloy crafting and gave him the most precious metals and ores from mounts of celestia. The Dragon unable to resist the bargain finally allowed his wife to pass the duties of life to her youngest sister Sagain. In this way Life was shared between the Azurians and the Dragon Gods via Sagain’s Husband Arkan. The Compact was sealed and marked on the island of Panthos on the first day of the first year on the great Compact Stone. Since that day Abraxas and his wife Wenscia have not been heard from, but legend has it that they live somewhere hoarding a vast and unimaginable treasure trove. The legends of Abraxas’s horde haunts the dreams of many adventures and have launched a thousand quests to retrieve it.
